At the Marlstone Tavern, we believe in being transparent with our customers and fair to our team.

There is NO service charge added to your bill, and there never will be.

TIPPING POLICY

Tipping is entirely optional.

Tipping is not a business transaction, the business has no involvement with any cash tips left for the staff.

We had a meeting with our lovely staff at the beginning of the year and asked them how they would best like to receive their tips, and after many to-ing and fro-ing on different ideas, and pros and cons on each, it was decided by our staff that the best option is to receive CASH tips only.

This ensures that every penny that you want them to have goes directly to them without getting lost in the system.

All tips are handled entirely by the staff and not the business.

The staff are responsible for declaring any tips received and are given advise by the business owners and shown where to seek appropriate tax guidance.

Do not feel bad if you do not have cash on you to tip the staff, they are paid well above the minimum wage to cover any tips they may miss out on, and many of our customers return at the earliest opportunity to tip, or remember the next time they visit
