Roll out the turkey

The time is nigh…the shopping frenzy is nearly over, the last of the presents are being wrapped.
Granma’s stocked up on sherry, Grandad’s trying not to pop a hip out while the youngest climbs up his beard and bounces on his tummy!

Mum’s started on the vodka already to settle her nerves…don’t worry mum it’ll all be over soon for another year! Dad’s hoping to escape the madness and grab a pint down the pub.

Kids found their presents a month ago, carefully peeled the Sellotape off to see what’s inside (we’ve all done it) then put them back carefully…so they’re already disappointed!

Wobbling on the brink of sanity, then unexpected guests turn up and all the decent restaurants are fully booked…then it dawns on you like a shining knight on his/or her white steed coming galloping round the corner. He flicks up his helmet face guard and shouts “ay up mate! Get y’ self down the pie pub…they don’t take evening bookings remember!”

December sanity has been restored…hurrah.

Turkey with sage and onion stuffing pie and cranberry sauce available in abundance, this has got to be Decembers pie of the month… without the drama.
